An intentionally small, 所有性别, independent day and boarding school for students in grades 9-12, Solebury is nestled on a rolling 140-acre campus in the Pennsylvania countryside. Essential Functions:

  • Teach four high school chemistry as well as general science classes in 80-minute blocks meeting two to three times per week
  • Collaborate with other members of the 科学 Department in implementing curriculum
  • Foster a strong working relationship with students, colleagues, and families
  • Lead an after-school activity three days per week for two trimesters, or coach a sport five days per week for one trimester
  • Participate in assigned weekend duties as part of the boarding program, with a number of weekends based on housing
  • Serve as an advisor of up to eight students

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Education, or related field

  • Advanced degree in Chemistry, Education, or related field
  • Boarding and/or independent school experience

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Physical: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, 携带, 推, 拉, reach for or otherwise move objects, including textbooks and other teaching materials. Sedentary work involves sitting, standing and walking around the classroom
  • Communication: Activities include both hearing and talking to express or exchange ideas and information
  • Environmental conditions: Activities occur mostly inside and occasionally outside
  • Valid driver’s license required as well as ability to pass a variety of background checks
